I posted this in the owners lounge but I am nearing my 14 day return/exchange policy and needed an answer ASAP. Can someone please do me a favor? Preferably the younger crowd (no offense! but our ears change with time especially when trying to hear high frequency noises). When your fans are running (say watching a 1080p youtube video) and you put your ear up the right and left fan. Do either exhibit a high pitch frequency noise? Put your ear not up to the exhaust but where the fan would be on the bottom panel.

It would be very much appreciated!

I'm 37, but when my fan is on at night, dead silent, it's very quiet.

I started noticing about a week ago when I started going to the library to study for this Friday's exam. It is subtle but when I tried to play youtube videos or anything that kicks the fan on its very audible. Did you try placing your ear to the bottom?

Yeah, I can barely hear it spinning. If it's too loud there might be something wrong with it. I have been web browsing for about 3hrs right now, so it's hot enough for the fan to be running.

I'm getting a squeal from my fans. I'm on my 3rd. My first was DOA out of the box. The second had a bad microphone, and this one is squealing. It isn't mechanical, it sounds like a chip or something isn't happy. There are basically no moving parts besides the fans, so this bothers me. As soon as stock shows back up at Best Buy, I'm returning it for a new one. No need to wait until something breaks and have to be jerked around for weeks by Lenovo support or cash in my Geek Squad warranty.
