    Hi everybody,

I want buy an new Lenovo's laptop, but I cannot choose my future laptop :(

    I seek a laptop of less than 16 " (15.4 OK, 14 " OK, 13.3 " OK,….) with more 5h of autonomy!!

I do not need necessarily an competition laptop :) , it will be useful to me primarily for surfing on the Net, and some trifle can greedy ..... to give you an idea my preceding portable were Centrino M735 (1.70Ghtz) and it was enough for me!!

    Thank you for your assistance!!

    Cyril

ps : excuse my poor English, i'm French

Lenovo + 5 hours of battery life you probably would need to look at the X61 (12.1") or the T61 with integrated graphics & 6+ cell battery (14.1").

Although im not so sure they offer 6-cell battery + x3100 graphics on the T61, can anyone else confirm this?

i see, thanks for your reply, but i prefer an laptop with normal battery (no extra battery .... too long, too horrible ....)

I regret my last laptop pentium M 1.6Ghtz with standard battery ----- 4 Hours ;)

Get a 14 inch T61 with a 4:3 display, the standard 6 cell battery, and the optional Ultrabay battery. Nothing will stick out, that should definitely be good for 5+ hours using the integrated X3100 video adapter.

I can get just about 4 hours with a NVS 140M and a 4 cell + Ultrabay if I try for it (7 cells of total power). With wireless on, however I am not using the mouse since firing up the USB ports takes like 2 watts of power.

With 2 more cells of power + a video card that uses a lot less power, 5+ hours should be pretty easy.

You've mentioned a 6-cell battery in your previous post.
Yes, it should get 5+ on a 9-cell.

yeah a 6 cell + an ultrabay battery (3 cell). 9 cell worth of power with nothing sticking out.

    Yes, that's what I got.

I haven't tested my battery time precisely as yet, but I'm currently getting close to six hours (maybe fractionally more), with wifi off and screen brightness a notch or two below max.

Mind you, the downside is tryna find a sleeve that snugly fits! I guess that's a lost cause.

Ok, well, and there is not another mark (samsung, sony, siemens, ...) which proposes laptop with a great autonomy (with a standard battery?) .... maximum $1800
