    Argh!

This laptop is really driving me crazy?!?!? Okay, so even after a bunch of incorrect drivers from Lenovo I have come accross a USB driver issue. Everytime I connact a USB device to one of the laptops ports, it finds the correct drivers, installs the USB device and works.....until you type on the keyboard and the little "bing bong" noise sounds as if you were unplugging and plugging the device. Crazy thing is, if I keep typing it looses the device all together and I manually have to unplug and plug back in the USB device which works fine. Does this with everything, webcams, rs232 to serial, digicams, any USB device. I tried reinstalling the USB drivers from Intel and still nothing.

This laptop is running Windows XP Pro (all the latest service packs) and the full spec of the Lenovo 3000 N100 is on there site. Anyone have any idea's what could be causing this? This is probably the worst purchase i ever made, laptop has had one issue after another, for example if I plug in my headphones it tells me "A jack has been plugged in", yet does not mute the built-in speakers. I spent over a week trying to get the correct audio drivers from Lenovo, they still have the incorrect ones on there site for this laptop, I think i am gonna cry!

    Help!

Have you tried Lenovo care software, system update 3?
I updated most of my drivers on the system update 3, it's a bit slow but, so far everything is working well.
Which N100 do u have? I have the 0768-A27, it's one of the models that is being phased out. Remember to update the BIOS first.
You can also reinstall WindowsXP. All you have to do is create a recovery CD using the thinkvantage rescue and recovery software, and when u reinstall just use the CD and it will recover all the software and drivers to the original state.
The only problem I had seemed to be the ThinkVantage access connection software, it's one of those really crappy 3rd party programs. I uninstalled it and now everything work like a dream.
I generally found this N100 is really reliable. The fan is keeping the CPU cool. It's amazing how cool the underside of this thing is after running it for a long time. My old Acer travelmate used to burn a hole through my desk.
My suggestion to you is uninstall all the software and driver that came with it and reinstall everything using the thinkvantage rescue and recovery program.
I am loving the screen, widescreen high resolution! I am almost as productive as before when I was using two 17inch monitors side by side, it's just fabolous.

    Hi There,
I hope you fixed this Issue w/usb & keyboard. I had the same problem & had to send to IBM "TWICE" (Since still had warranty time) Anyway it was the bios update that messed it up. They downgraded (Which I tried w/no success) to 1.09 which is not not the IBM site. Happy Holidays.. :)
