I have Lenovo 3000 N200, 0769-BJG. I have a S-Video to SCART cable, but when I connect the TV, I only see black & white on the TV! :( I tried all (NTSC & PAL) video formats, but nothing works. What should I try?

I downloaded the Intel video driver from the Lenovo site.

My guess is the cable and not the driver...I used to do a lot of video signal conversions and stuff and converters or the scalers (especially the cheap ones) is what usually let me down...never the computer. Also if your running long distance cable you'll get a b&w signal.

You have to configure your TV and the Thinkpad for the S-video connection, or else it will be in black and white.

Yeah, but how? I tried (I think) all the video format settings on my laptop, and I don't know what to do on my TV (it seems I can't set the format for the connected devices, only for video coming from the antenna)... I tried 2 different TV sets, on both it's just B&W. Could it be that the drivers are bad? I downloaded them from the Lenovo site.
    BTW, it's not a ThinkPad, it's Lenovo 3000 N200 (if it matters).

The cable is new and 2 meters long, I don't think it's the cable... I guess I'll give it to a friend for testing, though.

    Hi all!

I have the same problem with my Dell Inspiron 1720 with a GeForce 8600M GT. I tried everything and finally I came up with the idea to upgrade the video driver. It happened to be worsen. During the installation my desktop popped into the tv, got colored in for 15 sec. then got back to the LCD and the computer went dead. After a retry I managed to install the driver and the laptop found the tv, but didn`t send any data to it, it just stayed blank. Anybody with any idea?

I had to do a system restore, to get back the previous driver.
