If I recover my laptop to factory defaults using rescue and recovery (I press the lenovo care button while booting then go to restore system) will that remove the hidden service partition as well ? does it overwrite the WHOLE drive with image or it starts writting after the recovery partition ? in other words will I be able to use the service partition to recover factory defaults as many as I want or only once as I am only allowed to create the recovery cds once ?
I also read that I get to choose If want to keep other partitions that I've created (other than c :) intact, am I correct ?

EDIT: do the recover CDs (I have 1cd and 1 dvd, made them from create recovery media) restore the hidden service partition too ?

You can perform the blue button recovery as many times as you like and it does not delete the hidden partition. You can only make one set of recovery discs, unless you factory restore with the blue button, in which you can create more. I don't think the recovery discs will not restore your hidden partition. As long as you don't delete the hidden partition somehow, then it will always be there.

I have lenovo 3000 N100. When I try to recover the system to factory default settings it says that this option has been removed from system. I had low space in C drive so I deleted the backups to free space on c drive but somehow it deleted the factory default option I guess. Now I have tried updating the system with system updater. Installed new lenovo care pack and rescue and recovery 4.1 but still it doesn't give me option to restore to factory default settings. Now I don't have any backup. Created the startup disk but the 5 recovery Cd's were not created now I am not sure what to do? can anyone guide me? thanks in advance.

Hmm...you can always call Lenovo and tell them your situation and ask for recovery discs. You can buy them also, they're not that much money.
