Can someone please explain to me the difference in the build quality of a Think Pad vs a commercial quality laptop like my old Sony Vio ?

What exactly makes the Think pad a more durable notebook. As I understand it is it the hinges or plastic?..keyboard?

My old Sony had to be sent in 5 times for hinge replacements, screen falling off from the cover, and the keys following off the key pad.

    Thanks

search the IBM/Lenovo board for "build quality" and you'll find numerous threads on the same subject.

    follow this link:

if you read through those and have a NEW question then feel free to start a new thread.   otherwise, there's really no reason to discuss the same subject again.
