About to order mine. Rebate works but cannot be combined with coupons (obviously!)

Odd that they force you to call and don't advertise the prices, just say "up to 40% off" which leaves room for not actually getting the advertised deal and not being able to easily compare with coupon prices. Was there there any aggressive upselling or gotchas with this?

Good point. They will probably try to use the human factor to minimize the discounts. But if you're persistent you might get the advertised 40% OFF. There was a 30% OFF last weekend (coupon), so I'm not that surprised after all.

What's the point of a discount if they want to minimize it?

I guess it's similar to what all other companies do. I was once fooled by a Dell rep when ordering a laptop by phone and because I didn't do the homework online, he managed to trick me into paying extra 10% of the actual (website) price.
But if you get prepared, no way they can minimize the discount ;)

:) Funny. Did you get your price adjusted?
