    Hey All,

    I ordered a Lenovo 3000 N200 yesterday with the visaperks.ca deal.

Lenovo N200 Notebook (0769A8U) with Extra AC Adapter and Extra 9 Cell Li-Ion Battery.
Operating System: Genuine Windows Vista Business Screen: 15.4 WSXGA+ VibrantView T 1680x1050 Onboard Graphic Chipset: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 with Turbo Cache Onboard Audio: ALC861VD Included Modem: 56Kbps data/14.4Kbps fax Hard Drive Controller: Serial ATA Onboard Network Contoller: Gigabit Ethernet- Integrated 10Mbps,100Mbps,1000M Battery Type: 6 Cell Lithium-Ion External Speakers: 2 (Internal Speakers) Warranty: One year parts and labor (system battery: one year) Wireless:Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN

    Added 1GB RAM

Total shipped: 1298 CDN which I think is a great deal.

The problem: 3-4 weeks wait time for delivery.

I noticed around the internet that a lot of people are having long waits with this model, Lenovo, and other manufacturers (dell).

I guess it's common this time a year (back to school) to have long waits. However, I know that Lenovo and Dell often overestimate ship dates.
Does anyone's experiances indicate that this is/isn't the case. It seems as though people are cancelling orders like crazy lately.

My friend ordered a T61p 9 days ago and got it today, I guess it depends on where in Canada you are, because he lives in Thornhill, Ontario and the distribution center is in Markham (about 40km away).

Also, I was wondering if there's a way to check your order status online with Lenovo canada instead of emailing/phoning.

Almost all of the people that ordered 14.1" T61s over the summer from Lenovo Canada are getting them shipped immediately. They estimated that they'd ship them on Sept. 10 but got an unexpected shipment yesterday. My T61 (along with about 200 others) are getting shipped well before the ESD!!

Canada does NOT do custom orders - only preconfigured machines. This allows Lenovo to have stock on many machines before you order rather than enter a custom build queue.

I ordered a V200 last Tuesday from Lenovo Canada and it will arrive this upcoming Monday, less than a week later!

There is no way of tracking order status other than phoning Lenovo AFAIK. This is ghey. Fortunately, I have never had to wait on hold longer than a minute or so.
