Hey guys, I recently placed an order at Lenovo Canada(04/15/11) the order was shipped on the 20th of April. Today (04/22/11) there is a huge sale on just about every Thinkpad Series. The sale is called the Easter Bunny Sale. Here is the problem
    • I can build the exact same laptop for around $200 less. I called up Lenovo Canada and asked if they can do the Price Protection Policy and they said Canada does not do this. I have read on the forums that Canada does have this PPP, so I do not know what to think.
    • Lets say Canada does not have the PPP for sure and I receive my laptop (should be here by early next week) and I do not open it. Is it possible for me to return the first laptop w/o paying the restock fee? At the same time get the same laptop for the lower price? If I do avoid the fee and get the lower priced laptop, how long would this process take?

    Thanks in advance!

When I was talking with my rep he also told me there was no price protection in Canada. The key is has it shipped yet. If not you can cancel it. Oh and visaperks.ca has a better deal then even the easter sale an if you et a good rep you may be able to do even better. I think if it has shipped you would have to pay the restocking fee
I think the only way to return it without the fee is if there is something wrong with it
I suggest talking to a rep about this maybe they can help you

Okay. Is it possible to make up a story full of bullocks (Ex. The screen on the T420 is horrible, which in this case is semi-true) and get a replacement or a full refund w/o paying the restock fee?

that I dont know call them up and see is they can do anything. Otherwise you are likely stuck with the restocking fee.

Well I have not received my T420 yet, but I have read that the screen is semi crap. I guess I can phone them again to see what I can do.

Just called up Lenovo. The CSR said it may be possible for me to return the T420 for a replacement OR for a full refund if there is a problem w/ the screen of a T420. I could argue that the screen quality of the T420 is absolute crap and perhaps I could get a full refund and buy another T420 for a much lower price.
