You might want to compare prices with www.visaperks.ca .

On left where it says "search by merchant" select Lenovo

Combining the Student Computer site and coupon CAPPREBOXINGDAY (which expires today, Friday Dec. 21/2007) you can get pretty good deals on fully configurable (CTO) models. These two combined reduced my price from $1229 to $987 (after tax) for a 14.1 T61.

The Visaperks.ca site still directs you to the old Lenovo Canada site with models that are not configurable, and more expensive.

Perhaps I should cancel my order and reorder either through the student site or visaperks. I ended up getting the discounted prices for components and the 10% off preboxing day.

I'm wondering if I could get a better deal if I waited for visaperks, but I'm pretty sure the prices will be similar to student deals. Either way, I need to recancel my order and order again. I already had to do that because apparently the preboxing day sale coupon price can't be adjusted after the sale. Oh well.

Does anyone know how long you have to cancel an order after your placed it before your credit card gets charged?

I placed my order on Dec. 5/2007 for a 14-inch CTO model, and the charge showed up on my credit card statement on Dec. 14/2007 (1 day after an email that my laptop had shipped). I had no discounts applied.

I called yesterday to have the CAPPREBOXINGDAY coupon retroactively applied which reduced my price for $1229 to $1100 or so.
Then today I saw the student site, and combined both discounts for a final price for $987 - and called them again. The rep thought it wasn't possible to combine them - but asked me to email him a screen shot and he would have both discounts applied and the difference refunded to my credit card by the billing department at Lenovo Canada.
