This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Lenovo Care apps don't launch?

    Over time I've disabled various Lenovo services, either from services.msc or WinPatrol, as I didn't think I needed them running. But I wanted to make a set of recovery CDs (so I can try to delete my recovery partition), and so I re-enabled everything I saw. I tried to run first the Rescue and Recovery app, and then Lenovo Care. Neither one launches. The R&R app waits a while and then sends a message that the R&R service either has not started or has stopped. The Lenovo Care app does nothing. System Update works fine. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

    Update: I got Rescue and Recovery to launch by repairing it from Control Panel/Add Remove Programs, but Lenovo Care is still broken.
