Hi all, I was just wondering if you noticed this as well, and are having the same problem with your T61 shipment.
Today I received an e-mail from Lenovo apologizing for their T61 delays. Inside they offered me a "free gift" and told me I should respond to [email protected]. Here is a series of questions I have about this problem.
1. I noticed that the actual e-mail was sent from [email protected], but they are having us reply to [email protected] (could this be a typo? has anyone called to confirm?)
2. The e-mail says:
"As a gesture of our appreciation, please select one of the following items as a free gift after receiving your computer."
I was a bit unsure if this meant, the gift would be received after we got our computers, or we should only reply after actually receiving our T61 notebooks. Any thoughts?
3. I got an e-mail with an updated estimated shipping date. The date was set for the 28th of August (yes! I know this was due to an internal glitch), however my NEW updated shipping date is now set for the 17th of August... Did Lenovo screw this up AGAIN? (i.e. is anyone else having this same problem?) or is that the actual projected shipping date?
I plan to call Lenovo tomorrow with my questions, but any feedback beforehand would be nice. I will post answers to these questions after I talk to a Lenovo representative just in case anyone else has the same problem and is curious (assuming someone else doesn't answer them first). Once again, thank you for your input.

it depends on those gifts. if they are giving another t61 as a gift, I would wait...

I ordered on 5/11 and had a 8/31 shipping date until yesterday when it changed to 8/17. I'm guessing that their system is still screwed up because it the e-mail it says they're going to try to get most if not all delayed t61's out by june 26th

I just got off the phone with a Lenovo rep. and here were his answers to my questions.
1. You are actually supposed to send to [email protected] He said that the reason some of them were bouncing was probably because of the high volume of replies (so keep trying I guess?). Mine has bounced twice now, I think it is just a wrong address.
2. Apparently you don't have to wait to receive your notebook to order the "free gift". He said a lot of people are replying already, and the sooner the better.
3. He doesn't know about the 8/17 ship date but expects that it is just another glitch. "The E-Mail ESD is probably the more reliable one."
