Hey all, SO let me start out by saying that I had never bought a business grade machine before, and this is my second thinkpad but it is my first brand new laptop. (First was a 380xd) Anyway, I got a T61p in march and in the last month it had developed a horrid squeak upon EVERY click of the left mouse button below the touchpad. I did some research and found that it is a known issue. So I submitted a ticket using the ESC on Thursday, I got a phone call Friday, and Monday, I had a whole new palm rest w/ touchpad, mouse buttons, and fingerprint scanner, all under warranty, free of charge. It was the easiest, and fastest customer service I have ever had, YAY!

I had used ESC once. I didn't even need to go on phone. I made an appointment for the laptop to ship and the box came before one day it shipped. This is the way business should be, A+
(under warranty, tho)

With all of the threads that completely bash Lenovo's customer service, I guess it's a bit refreshing to hear some good things. Thanks.

Ahbeyvuhgehduh Lost in contemplation....
I was thinking the same thing, actually.

Yeah their depot repair had pretty good turnaround times when I used it. My laptop had greasy fingerprints on it when I got it back though, but whatever.
-
Yeah, despite all the thrashing that Lenovo customer service seems to get on this forum I've only had exceptional experiences with Lenovo. I've had to deal with warranty service twice (once for a bad battery, once for a bad AC adapter) and both times it was incredibly quick and easy.

Lenovo customer service sucks.

Thanks for the constructive commentary
.

explain..?

Fixed that for you.

Since it seems like their customer service is in order, maybe they should focus their efforts on QC. That way, maybe they wouldn't have so many people returning broken or flawed Thinkpads to them.

explain...?

QC in China,,, lol sux!
-
That is a huge misnomer. QC in china is as good as the company paying the chinese company makes it (via their instructions and money they pay them). A chinese company will do whatever you want as long as you pay. If they want cheap crap then they give it to you. But if you want high quality products with good QC they WILL do it.
-
QFT exactly. they are made exactly to specification. or else a big lawsuit is waiting for them. if Americans want low prices for their products then they will get low prices along with the corresponding quality. there is no such thing as low prices with high quality. its a simple concept. If americans are willing to pay more for higher quailty, it can be arranged.

ok but keep in mind that think pads aren't a CHEAP product, mine cost close to $1800, in laptop land that is not a LOW priced item. So Quality should be expected. And I have had no problems with quality on this machine besides a squeaky left mouse button. (which was fixed, yay!)
