Well on 8/15 I placed an order for a T61P 14.1 SXGA+ notebook. For 1500$ with tax and shipping is was a good deal. Anyways I called a few days ago to check on my order and they said my order had an "invalid configuration." I ask who do I speak with to get it fixed. They tell me no one and I should expect a call back letting me me know more information. I demand to speak with a supervisor and they say there is none on the floor   Lenovo is lucky that there is nothing eles on the market in a 14inch factor with decent battery life and a 8600GT based card for 1500$ with tax and shipping. Anyone eles have this issue and what steps did you take to fix it.

    Just place another order.
Lenovo seems to be shipping very fast now (like 3 days from the order)

Are you talking the realtor's T61p deal?
The one that's been accomplished by tinkering with the Lenovo ordering pages?
Then you shouldn't be surprised at the outcome.
Lenovo has every right to cancel orders placed through the compromised backdoor pages.

Did they say what was particularly invalid about your configuration?

they never "lied" about it. they just didn't report it as 64-bit. all the said was the 14.1" comes with the quadro fx 570m.

nvdia lied about it there is no 64bit 570 on their page. Lenovo is selling a computer, and doesn't state that the card is crippled

i think both parties are to blame, but neither really "lied" they just didn't report it. there's a difference between reporting misleading information and not reporting it at all.

They show that all 570's are 128bit it does not say UP TO 128bit rather 128bit. This is a blatant fraudulent statement with regards to the 570 card in the T61p 14.1". The 570 128mb card in the T61p 14.1 is a 64 bit card.

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_11761.html

By omitting that it is indeed a 64bit card is fraud. Nvidia cannot make a blanket statement that their card is rated at something it is not. Some versions are but they must state which versions aren't.

You are saying by them stating that all 570 cards were based on the 128bit memory interface is not a lie?

Could someone please test the link on the other page on a 256MB 570M? What if the memory interface is reading 64, but is really 64 DDR = 128bit? I know it sounds insane, but maybe we're just jumping the gun.

my bad...overlooked that part on the nvidia site. how would they state which versions are 64-bit and which are 128-bit? i agree they should have put "up to 128-bit" though.

however, i believe lenovo did modify the card somewhat since we were told the card is directly soldered onto the motherboard. but lenovo did not lie when they put the notebook has the 570m because it does.

There probably will only be two versions the 128/256mb versions. They could have put a 64bit/128bit with an asterisk 128mb versions limited to 64bit or something like this. If Lenovo is at fault for doing this by not disclosing that it indeed was a crippled version, that is indeed fraud. You cannot expect a consumer to purchase a computer without knowing this type of information. You can't severely cripple a card and then not have any sort of information. If this is true, there could be a class action lawsuit, as a manufacturer cannot blatantly modify hardware and pass it off as a different spec to try to gain more sales. Either way someone dropped the ball here, and from my past experience I am betting it was probably Lenovo.
