I cannot switch on my new E420 Edge!

I was using it last night, put it on hibernate and got home from work this evening and it's completely dead. There's no charging light, I have another Lenovo charger and have tried that to no avail. I know that one is working as it's powering my old work R60 that I am using now!

Absolutely bizarre, I've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in. Different outlets. Nothing is working.

Last night the BIOS updated itself via Thinkvantage's Update.... Could that ave screwed it? I went through the full updating cycle before I hibernated it. I swear I am never updating a PC of mine again....

Any ideas? Or am I doing something absolutely stupid?

    Thanks....!

i mean if you have tried the battery trick and it still doesn't work. Then you probably are looking at an issue with hardware (most likely the BIOS update).

Personally, i have had two experiences with these automated bios update problem, once on the R400 and another one on the X301 luckily i got warranty on both of them.

Haha no, except when it's still in warranty.

I swear that no matter what device it is, iPhone, laptop, router, the more you 'update' them the more you screw them up :(

    That's why I generally don't update unless I have a need.

I doubt a BIOS flash would cause your laptop not to even power on. Now if it powered on and no video, yes a bad BIOS flash can do that. Just general hardware failure, just call up Lenovo Support.

Depending on at what stage the BIOS update occurs this can occur.
