I own a thinkpad e420s and it seems to have a volume control issue.

Lets say I am watching a youtube video and when I try to change the volume or mute using the dedicated buttons, nothing happens. Turns out I have click else where on the screen before I change the volume.

To clarify, when I click the video box and try to change the volume, nothing happens. So I must click elsewhere first.

    Anyone expreriencing this issue?
    any fixes?

I have owned many laptops before but have not had this problem.

    Thanks very much.

What browser are you using to watch the Youtube videos? Does this problem occur when watching any other videos (say, in WMP)?

I think this is a Flash issue as it occurs with the keyboard controls on my desktop computer as well (using the same keyboard on multiple computers). It might also be exclusive to Google Chrome, I just say this because it is the only browser I have used for years now. I do not think it is an issue with your Lenovo, though I have noticed it with mine as well... I have googled it on a couple of occasions and have not found any useful information.
