Hello...
Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I was wondering if there is any significant benefits to be gained from having the Lenovo Enhanced Experience (EE) for Windows 7 functionality, or is it just fancy marketing?
I have a T61p running on Win 7 Pro and obviously missed out on the EE image.
Thanks![]()

According to Lenovo they have made adjustments (fine tuned if you wanna call it) to the BIOS to allow faster boot up times and shutdown times.
According to many on this forum and others its just a marketing gimmick.
I lean towards the latter.
In the below video (which you might have seen) the guy briefly talks about how EE helps with faster boot up and shutdown times.

My T61 boots roughly 2 to 3 seconds faster than my IdeaPad with EE while shutdown time is almost exactly the same. The only time my IdeaPad beats it is when I restart it. The T61 is roughly 20 seconds slower compared to the IdeaPad. I do think EE actually works, but the results are extremely minimal. At least it comes with a free sticker....

My X301 with the "enhanced experience" starts MUCH quicker then my T61.
Probably due to it's SSD. -
Comparing a regular HDD system with a SSD equipped machine does not seem fair...
-
Does the Enhanced experience have to do with the BIOS or is it tweaks Lenovo makes to Windows 7?

I did a clean install of retail Windows 7 after ~1 month use of the Lenovo build. I don't notice any serious difference in sped.

Sorry, I shouldn't have posted that at all, since the SSD and regular hard drive is two totally different things.
I was just posting about my comments in general on what I have noticed with the "enhanced experience" sticker versus one without it. Had they BOTH had SSD's, or BOTH had HDD's, then it would be a much better comparison. -
"enhanced experience" is just marketing spin. real speed differences come
1) updating win 7 from vista
2) updating 32 bit win7 to 64bit win7
3) updating HDD to SDD
4) removing any lenovo software you don't need -
This happens a lot in my usual email exchanges, but I was vigilant enough to catch that ... especially when talking to some senior associates.
I didn't mean to be sarcastic. I owe everyone an apology if that's perceived to be so, especially to MikesDell. -

Hmm, so not much benefit from EE? I thought it might be UEFI but I guess they're still using BIOS.
-
Anyone have any idea how I can get my hands on an EE image?
Also, if the EE is only due to tweaking the BIOS, what happens when there is a new version of the BIOS? Won't the new BIOS replace the existing BIOS (with EE)? -
-
Well, I've actually noted that my shutdown speed is noticeably faster than my desktop... which isn't necessarily useful.

As far as Im concerned, this is little more than marketing/snake oil http://forum.notebookreview.com/len...-windows-enhanced-experience-mini-review.html.
