I have an Ideapad U110 with an external RW DVD - the one that came with the laptop. I purchased the laptop with an XP downgrade and the DVD driver worked fine. After 2 months, I was hit by a virus that could only be removed (or so a tech friend said) by reformatting the harddrive. I then upgraded to Windows 7 before using the DVD player again.

Since upgrading to 7, the DVD player will not work. Neither will the integrated microphone. I can't find solutions for either problem - no drivers for 7 being offered from Lenovo. I have also extensively searched the web for solutions but apparently, I'm the only one with this problem.

Maybe, just maybe, someone out there can help. I would be indebted. Gracias. - Alec
