Are you referring to the Lenovo 3000 G400? Lenovo seems to market the 3000 series only in Asia and nearby markets, so there will likely be little or no knowledge of this model here. Lenovo offers drivers for the Intel 3945ABG and 4965ABG cards on the 3000 G400 driver page, so one of those may work.

i cannot believe the intel card is "blocked" by some access points, doesn't make much sense to me. besides they offer just intel cards, you can still try another card from your friends notebook. i personally have good experiences with atheros cards (ar5005g), or more precisely cards with that chipset.

my actual card is broadcom BCM94311MCG
    the bios is very simple...
i heard about a lot of card not compatible with ibm..
so i wonder if i can put some other wireless card other than those 3 to 4 type..
i dont think i will be using broadcom again as it burns and kill my hdd...

hoping to get a wireless card that supports air crack.. worry it not working after bought.. lolz

@skriefal : yes.. its lenovo 3000 g400.. the specs is quite good with the price.. but if i know this problem coming soon i swore i wont bought it.. = =

You need to use a card that is in the BIOS "whitelist". Intel 3945 and 4965 should work, as stated above. Cards based on the Broadcom BCM94311MCG may work, but they'd probably need a Lenovo-specific ID string (meaning that you'd want to purchase one that was originally sold by and branded by Lenovo).

Your best bet is to look at which wireless NIC drivers Lenovo offers for your notebook model. That should guide you towards which cards to consider.
