Okay. It's not even been a year since I'm using this notebook. Looks like either my battery got busted/ the power brick has its own problems.

I tried changing the AC adapter cable on the power brick - Problem still persists. So that's not an issue.
Now the culprit could be either
    1. The battery itself
    2. Some connection problems inside the power brick (the Blue LENOVO light glows, though) ?
    3. Or problems in the connecting cord from the power brick to the notebook
    4. The connection port in the notebook is busted (The most deadliest! :( )

If I try shaking the cable and keep it in awkward positions, sometimes it does charge up. From my experiences, I'm thinking the batterys' busted. Don't know for sure.

Has anyone faced similar issues with the other Lenovo Value Lines (Lenovo 3000 series)?

The thing is still in warranty (I guess - it's under 1 yr). Is the battery covered under warranty? IS the power brick covered as well?

battery has 1 year warranty, so if haven't gone past that, then you should seek warranty immediately.

Awright, just got back from my friend's place. He had a Y550. His charger works perfectly :). I tried to test my charger by trying to charge his notebook. It didn't work for him either. The power brick was the culprit...

Question : Is the power brick/adapter covered under warranty ?

UPDATE : Called up Lenovo Customer care, and yeah, it seems even the power adapter is covered under warranty for a period of 1 year.. :)

no, the power adapter warranty is covered as long your laptop is covered, but battery is 1 year regardless of the extended warranty you have for the rest of the laptop.

Of course that is the problem with the lenovo power adapter.
Lenovo laptop computer parts have 2-year warranty except the battery which only cover one year warranty.
Just ask Lenovo for a new adapter or get a new one, It only cost 15-40 dollars no matter original or OEM power supply.

    Refer:
    1-year warranty lenovo g550 battery .
