Hello everyone - does anyone happen to know if Lenovo does something weird with their hard drives to prevent partitioning of the drive? I've tried two partition programs already, both were unsuccessful (Easeus and Paragon Partition Manager).

I'm trying to create a partition to do a clean install of Windows 7 to give it a test drive. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!

For what it's worth, I have a Western Digital Scorpio Blue 120gb hard disk installed by Lenovo (recovery partition, etc still intact).

The same with me. After re-partition by tool on Hirent boot, reboot then System recovery will start automatically. After it done, your laptop can't load any driver. My solution is use a tool on windows. I've use Acronis director and the result is perfect. cheer. :D

Why do you not use the boot tools in the Vista preboot?

I actually use Windows XP so the partitioning tool Vista carries is not an option for me. And I tried the Acronis partition software mentioned above, and this does not work either. It might be worth mentioning that this HDD has failed to start up on me a few times, which could potentially be the root of the problem. Why won't I just replace it? Lenovo says they won't help me out until after the hard drive completely does not start up anymore.
