Ive heard that the Lenovo HDDs in T61s have some sort of protection in or around them. I wanna upgrade my HDD as soon as i get it with a 7200rpm drive(either hitachi or seagate<-any links to an according thread?).

My question is if this would take away some of those special security features or compromise them in any way?

    THX for help,

    GreetZ

I believe the Active Protection System is software-based, so it should not matter which HDD you have in your system.
