I just got my new t61p with 7200 rpm 100gb hard drive and i have an issue there is an extremly bad high pitched noise comming from the laptop and its driving me crazy its the most annoying thing i have ever heard and now that i am tuned into it it just wont stop.. its constant high pitched sound and the effect is worse then a dentists drill.. can you guys take your laptops into a quite room and post if you have this same noise.. God i hope the hard drive is not defective because after this long wait i could not deal with another long wait for service..

    Thanks

Interestingly I read somewhere other people complaining about the 100Gb hard drive noise.
I would hate to wait and get any noise out of the ordinary after such a long waiting time and money spent as well.

its kinda like that, i had to listen to music when i was working in my home wire closet. It gave me an earache and headache, an amazingly high pitched sound..
