    Hi Guys:

Can I install any SATA 2.5 HD into a T520 and have the shock protection function work normally? Lenovo usually uses Hitachi drives. Will I have the same protection from a Seagate or Samsung drive?

    Thanks,
    C.

The shock protection does not discriminate between the drive it uses. There is a accelerometer build onto the laptop itself that senses movement, the software stop the hard drive when it detect shock/large motion.
