    Hello,

I've a Lenovo IBM Thinkpad X60s Type 1702Y2K with integrated SD Card Reader on side. The problem is that i don't know how to use it. If i put a SD card in the card reader, it is impossible to go to read it. The green light flash 2 or 3 times when i insert the SD card in the reader but i can find where i must go to go on it. if i go on "computer" (on Windows Vista Ultimate 32) i can not find it as a disk.
    Can someone help me?

(Sorry for my bad english but i'm a belgian french speaking personne)

    Thierry

check under the device manager to see if the drivers are installed...

you're doing things right. you should plug it in and it should show up next to the CD drives in My Computer...

i tried it but when i insert the SD card, nothing happens. when i put the card in my photo camera, an put the camera on the usb device, i see the camera directly next to te CD player. I've heared that by IBM sometimes you need some little programs to can use some device. In the device manager it is installed.

Is it possible the card you tried is an MMC card (it's slightly thinner than an SD card)? When I put an MMC card in the slot of my X60s, it doesn't show up.

Also, check to see if the card is an SDHC card (likely 4GB or larger). Without the right driver, an X60s' built-in drive (under Windows XP) won't be able to read an SDHC card (it's the same physical size as a standard SD card).

if i look on the card, it is a SanDisk card

    1.0G SDtm

i think it is a SD card and not an mcc.

and i think all the drivers are installed. (how can i see that if it is?)

You shouldn't need additional drivers if the card is a standard SD card, which it appears to be. If you have another SD card, format it with your X60s (sometimes it helps if you format the card with the device that's having trouble reading it). Then copy the files from the previous SD card to the second SD card (using a device other than your X60s). Then try to read the second SD card with your X60s.

If that works, it was probably a formatting issue, and you may need to have your X60s format your SD cards before you use them.
