I've been planning to get a Thinkpad for college but recently my budget has decreased so now I'm looking at the Ideapad. The ideapad comes with dolby speakers(which is really nice) but i'm worried about the processor in the Y510. Most retailers are offering the Intel Pentium Duo Core T2330 1.66GHz Processor, which i'm not sure is good. For daily tasks would this processor be good? I may play a game or two, but not anything crazy(mostly low graphics games, the highest i would play is CS:S). Even if it can't handle games, its not a big deal, thats why i have a 360 :).

You can get the R61 with the 140m card for less than $800. See the sticky at the top of the forum. Most laptop speakers aren't that great. If you're an audiophile, I'd suggest investing in some good headphones.

Let me second Zaz's suggestion. The R61 is a great deal... you could stay with the integrated x3100 graphics given your expected uses and you're within or close to your budget. If you're a college student go into Lenovo's Education portal. You'll get something like an extra 5% knocked off the base prices as well as all the options. With their better processors, it seems like an R61 would be a better overall choice for about the same money as the IdeaPad series.
