hi, iv seen this new Lenovo IdeaPad Y430-5232U 14.1 at circuit city, and was wondering, if anyone handled this laptop before? anyone have any reviews for this unit, and know if it has the overly glossy screen that shows glare?? Anyone know the build quality of these lenevos? should i get that or the Sony VAIO VGN-CS115J, which is also at circuit city and seems to be new...any suggestions, thanks..

Any Sony > Any IdeaPad. If you want to go for a Lenovo get a Thinkpad,.

I disagree. I've seen more problems with Sony laptops than IdeaPads.

IdeaPads are built quite well, even better than some ThinkPads.

Does the Y430 (14.1") have the same screen as the U330? I was hoping there would be other screen options.

yes in terms of a marvelous lap warmer.....Sony's prove to be the ultimate choice.... I have proof if it this website allowed NSFW content, but then again we all want to see laptops right?

i just bought exchanged my dv4-1028us for the Ideapad y430, and i love the laptop. The specs are lower than the dv4-1028us but it seems to be as fast, probably because there is not as much bloat ware loaded on the lenovo laptops. The build quality is much better than my hp dv4 build. The screen is glossy, and looks great! I would recommend this laptop.

I'm considering the Ideapad y430 too. I was wondering what bloatwares were there. Is there a full review on the Ideapad Y430 or any guides as to what to clean out / get rid of once you get it? Thanks!

you can find it at pcauthority.com.au and goodgearguide.com.au

just got one this weekend but was disappointed in the screen quality.
the colors were a bit washed and for acceptable brightness you have to turn it at least 2/3 up on the settings. but it has top notch build quality and design.
