The two hydrid ultrabooks I have seen, the Acer Aspire S3 and the Samsung Series 5 Ultra use SSD drives only as a hibernation partition to wake up the laptop from sleep quickly. These laptops have 20 GB and 16 GB SSD's. I noticed the Lenovo IdeaPad U300e has a 32GB SSD. With its size I would think the operating system is not installed on the SSD? Is that correct.

Can you also install programs in the SSD?

I recently bought one and found out that the OS was installed on the HDD instead of the SSD! The salesperson helped me confirm with the Lenovo distributor in my country and all they could say was "that's how it is." I found a guide on how to move the OS over to the SSD so I can get the full benefit of the hybrid SSD+HDD drive: Lenovo Ideapad U300e Review - Home
