Hi guys, I used to be a member here a few years ago but I have fallen out of the computer loop.
I was wondering what you guys think of the Lenovo IdeaPad y510? How is the general quality? I haven't been able to find a laptop with comparable specs in Canada for cheaper.

I can't speak to the quality of the Ys since I haven't seen one, but if they're anything like the N3000 I saw, it was OK, but nothing great.

Have you taken a look at the Y510 review( here)?
Also I suggest filling out the FAQ(and posting it in the 'What notebook should I buy forum') so that we can help you better. -
Like ydawgca said check out the review. From what I hear The quality is prety good. I have not read any complaints

No complaints yet. The overall build quality seems to be good for a consumer machine, from what I can see.
If I wanted something industrial, I'd have gone with a Thinkpad -- Lenovo had to cut some corners somewhere to hit this pricepoint, and I would imagine part of that includes cheaper materials or a less involved manufacture process.
