The laptop has been discontinued by Lenovo, I believe, since it's been replaced by the newer generation Y550.

You may still be able to find it at local electronics retailers, I believe I saw one at Fry's recently. The specs, however, were worse.

The Y530 is no longer available from Lenovo. It has been replaced by the 15.6" Y550.

    The 14.1" Y430 (very similar to the Y530) is still available with the 2.13GHz P7450, 256mb nVIDIA 9300M GS & 4GB RAM...just a slightly smaller version of the 15.4" Y530- LINK

At first glance, yes, the graphucs card is the major difference - the Nvidia GeForce 9300 is far superior to Intel integrated graphics when it comes to graphics-intensive tasks such as gaming.

What are you purposes for this laptop?

I'll be using it for college.
We'll be using Word, Photoshop, and other applications such as those.
I would also like to do some light gaming, such as counter strike and counter strike source and possibly bf2.
Do you think it would do the job?

According to the Lenovo 'official' marketing materials, you're right- the Y450 does have the G110M. But on the website it erroneously lists the G105M. The Y550 is also shown to have the 105M on the regular site, but the marketing info shows that it actually has the GT130M!

    Here are the model numbers-

    Y450-418939U - G110M (256mb)
    Y550-41864AU - GT130M (512mb)
    Y550-418642U - GT130M (512mb)

The Y650 is the only model that uses the 256mb G105M. To see the marketing materials, go to www.lenovo.com/psref, then click on the "IdeaPad Notebooks" link to see the PDF.

Way to go on the "official info"... Lenovo confusing its costumers.

Y530 discontinued --- aghhhhhh. I was hoping they will keep this model and upgrade display to WSXGA+ some day. I loathe 16:9 resolution of Y450/Y550.

CG15 - grab Y430 while they still have it. Its display resolution is the same as on Y530 so it will fit the same amount of data on the screen plus it's lighter.

The newer models Y450/Y550 have this 16:9 resolution that is good for watching movies but not so good for business application.
