Does anyone know what memory the ATi 6570 uses in the Lenovo IdeaPad Y560? DDR3? GDDR5? Big difference in performance between these!

    I have a y560p. GPU-Z says GDDR3. I am currently running 5700 drives, which I wouldn't think would affect this reading?

Hmmm, I believe the 6570 was only supposed to support GDDR5 or DDR3. Interesting. Do you have the 6570, or the 5730?

Graphics memory is normally much faster than ordinary computer memory.

Not if this 6570 uses GDDR5, which in that case would be faster.

which them it would be a 5770 or a 5750, it is indeed the same card, but with different memories. No OEM has yet put out a 5770.

However according to the AMD page, all 6500 models should have GDDR5, after a while it was pulled out and they added the DDR3 support, basically just a rebadge and some higher clocks.

Im not confident that someone is going to use the expensive and power eater GDDR5 in a mid range card, that beats the gt 540m
