I bought a Lenovo Ideapad 300-15ISK back in September 2016. In about 4 months, the thin pieces of plastic above and near the charging port began to break off. In the next 3-4 months following, more of the side pieces began to break off(including near the disc drive), and the center control cover/palm rest assembly popped up and began to separate from the bottom case piece, right near the hinges of the laptop. The right side will pop back in temporarily(often popping back out when the laptop is opened or when there is any pressure put on the side of the laptop), but the left side(where my power button and charging port are) pops back out immediately as of last night. I'm currently holding it down using a clamp while the laptop is in use. Lenovo's factory warranty has run out, but I still have the 3-year warranty from the store I bought it from.

My questions are- is this normal for Lenovo laptops? Would it be worth fixing myself, and if so, what would be the best way to do so, or or should I depend on the warranty?

The laptop is used daily and travels with me in a case, but I've never dropped it. My not-at-all tech saavy mother refuses to believe it's from anything other than it laying on its side on my arm, but that doesn't seem like it's enough to physically break what should be a well-built device. I've included photos of the offending areas below:

This is exactly the problem I've been facing for the last 4 months! My word, the laptop is falling apart now and I don't know how much the repair is going to cost? Any idea how much the repair costs?
