Today I bought a T400 machine and now I would like to change the keyboard. I would like to replace the T400 keyboard with a T60 keyboard and I'm wondering if anyone knows of internet shops where I can buy Lenovo keyboards at a great price.

In particular I'm looking for a German keyboard layout (part number 42T3152-NMB). The best offer which I found is from codemicro for $81. http://codemicro.com/store/check_price.php?partid=2828743.

I found several shops which offer the T60 German keyboard from ALPS and Chicony for around $60 but I want a NMB keyboard.

From which US web shop do you guys usually order Lenovo keyboards?

    Your help is highly appreciated.

    Thanks!

According to some information I received in another thread, it is possible for you to just call Lenovo and ask for one if you purchased the warranty. Try that and see.

When I ordered the laptop I tried to get it with the German keyboard layout. The Lenovo sales representative told me that it is not possible to change the keyboard when you order the machine and they also don't offer the German keyboard here in the US. He referred me to the German Lenovo website (but there they don't offer it to consumers only to business customers - according to the e-mail which I received from them).

If you don't want to spend that much money, you can always just use software to remap the keys (though this does mean that the key labels won't match what they do).

Bad idea, at least for a German keyboard. The US keyboard layout has one key less (next to "y" the German keyboard has a "<, |, >" key. I did that too, but I bought a broken English keyboard and replaced the key caps with the one from my German keyboard. Actually, this was the only occurence where I found the Windows key useful :).

Actually, I am looking for an US keyboard.. http://www.notebookreview.com/picture.asp?f=24296

If you have one, maybe we can do a swap?

    Btw, the keyboards for T60, T61, T61p, R60, R61, Z60 are interchangeable..

    Thanks.
