    Hey guys,

I plan on buying a port replictor and monitor for my X61, and was thinking of getting a monitor from Lenovo (Lenovo D221). Does anyone know if these are good or are there better monitors for the money out there?

Is there a universally agreed upon great monitor (for a decent price) out there?

    Any help would be appreciated!

I read somewhere that this particular model is not compliant with the new protection scheme that is needed to watch HD content (namely HD DVD and Bluray). So down the road you wont be able to watch HD movies on it.

Ug - but I won't even have an HD DVD drive on my X61, right?

Seems like the sweet spot is 22" monitors. There is a $200 price jump when going from 22" to 24" it seems...

I can certainly recommend the ones from Gateway.
The ones with a DVI connector that is HDCP enabled start with a 19" 1440x900 and go up to a 24" 1920x1200. There is a 22" 1680x1050 but I have not used that one.

I got the first one for my work to connect to an advanced docking station (on order) and I got the second one at home, already connected to the DVI port of the advanced docking staton which is eagerly awaiting its T61 counterpart that shipped today.

I'm currently using it connected the Toshiba via VGA. 1920x1200 resolution is simply awesome to watch and the picture is rock solid even through he analog VGA connection.

It also has an XBOX360 hooked up via Component cables.

Circuit City has the 19" for $229 until the 16th.
The 24" is on sale for $547, again also until 6/16, which is a good price as I bought mine for $630 from CompUSA during their Southern California store closing.

Curious - what monitor do people use with their X60/X61s? Guessing most people don't use the 12" screen at home?
