My girlfriend is looking for a new laptop, and she asked me to help look. I just bought a Y460, and I love it, but she wants something with better battery life (something around 6 hours). I'd like to get her an i3 or i5 processor. Her budget is ~$800, and she'd prefer a 15" widescreen display.

It will mostly be used for internet, online TV shows (Hulu), MS Office, and some non-intensive games (The Sims, Farmville, etc).

Any weight limit? What about just carrying an extra battery?

why not head to the outlet.lenovo.com (provided you are in USA), then pick up a R500 then get yourself a refurb 9 cells battery, then you are all set.

No weight limit. Her last laptop was a Gateway Tablet w/ a 9 cell battery that stuck out of the back, and I'm pretty sure it was 6 or 7 lbs.

L512 with a 9-cell battery (even with a 6-cell, IMO) might be a decent option.
