    Hi.

    Anyone that have read my posts () knows i'm in a bit of a problem.

    I am looking for someone that has a Lenovo N100 - like mine, so I can call him and ask for a favor. For example, either the BIOS sequence, that than he will tell me over the phone, and can SAVE ME from the dreadful situation that I am in.
    Alternatively , he can let me connect my HardDisk to his laptop, and I will install win7. This way i'll have a mirror image and can than just plug the HD to MY laptop, and be done with it (-;

    [on that matter - a question to all the gurus: when WIN7 installs itself, is the process hardware-specific? What I am asking is whether or not the installation processes - or during the process - the hardware (of the machine its being installed on) is taken into consideration by the installation program. The reason I ask this is to know if, maybe, I can install WIN7 on my other friend's laptop (but he has a different machine - a Gateway laptop with an AMD processor) and than take the HD back to my machine. So I need to know if this can work. ]

    THANKS FOR READING

    We had a Sony Vaio at work that the MoBo went out on it, in a pinch to get the user back up and running quickly, I pop out the hard drive from the Sony and put it in a Lenovo X61 tablet. It booted right installed the new drivers and needed to be re-activated.

    If you install 7 with another laptop and don't activate it, it should be straight forward.

    HTH,

    What you want, changes from version to version of Windows. You never have really been able to change processors because supposedly the CPU is licensed and the license is for the original CPU. Provisions are made for hardware changes like the disk etc.
