    Hi

I have a Lenovo N100 laptop that is suddenly not recognizing the WHITE color background. When I open IE or any application, the window background where you usually see a white background changes to a teal color. When I click on Display properties and go to appearance and modify the WINDOW setting portion of either XP or Classic style and point it to the color white, although the sample image of overlapping windows appears white but when I apply it and it refreshes, nothing happens. It's the weirdest thing because when I go to google.com, the whole google page is teal color and the address bar section is white and toolbars are outlined by this teal. I do see certain areas that are white but mostly is teal. My desktop stays the regular blue color. Even the windows logo background in upper right corner or IE window is teal color.

I have an NVIDIA GeFoce Go 7300 adapter. I've updated to the latest drivers, restored to last known good configuration, restored to 1 week ago, then restored to a backup of 1 month ago (when I wasn't having this problem). I have the latest windows updates and have latest definition files for norton antivirus so don't think it's spyware/trojan related.

I don't know what else to try since I am not sure if video card problem or LCD screen problem. Anyone ever see this problem?

Wierd... I guess if it was video card issue regarding the color white, everything white would be teal, not like you said that some parts remain white. If it was an LCD issue the same, or alternatively some area of the LCD would have a defect, like when a pixel is dead. Hmmm... Virus?

Thanks for the reply. It is weird and I'm not sure what the problem hence the posting. I have had my lcd screen replaced before so it may be a pixel problem or not. Who knows.

My Lenovo N100 is having exactly the same issue since today, I bought it 2 months ago on their website.

I sent my laptop to lenovo service provider and was told the screen has color distortion and needs to be replaced. So hopefully they can get it fixed.
