Reinstalled as in clean installed XP correct? You sure the drivers are all updated? Check out your Device Manager and see if there are any Exclamation Marks showing. Feed us some more info so we can feed you more.

    hi klutchrider

    thanks for your prompt reply.

its a clean install....format HD then install using windows XP Pro SP2. since i left my cd driver in my hometown, i just download all the driver on the Lenovo website.

all working well, except for this internal speaker of the laptop. im quite sure before i reinstall the system, the speaker is working fine. i just re-format/reinstall the windows XP because i was infected with computer virus.

there was no exclamation mark on the the device manager. no hardware conflict whatever.

and btw, was not also able to reinstall the omnipass fingerprint security since its not free on the lenovo site.

    help needed..thanks

I had this issue on my old Lenovo 3000 N100 (0768-DKU) when I did clean install of Vista.

I believe it had something to do with needing both the SoundMax driver and the UAA High Def Audio Driver. In fact, the lenovo page says the UAA driver must be installed before the soundmax and has a link to the UAA driver.

this is the link I found....double check your if it applies to your model. see under the "notes" section...
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-66525

Also, just to make sure, you are remembering to install the drivers after you extract them? Many pc makers perform the extract and install in one package. Lenovo requires that your extract the exe file, then navigate to something like
C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO the double click AdDrvLdr.EXE to actually install the driver.

I cant tell you how many times I have had friends believe they installed a driver when they only extracted it to the drivers folder.

My volume control buttons don't work.
    Volume control buttons not working.
    Lenovo 3000 N100
After reinstall of windows XP and complete reformat.

Just got off the phone with Lenovo tech. support in ATL and Drew helped me figure out that you need to download the hot keys driver:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-68000
in addition, make sure you download all sound drivers:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-63572

Then execute c:drivers/win/hotkey/setup.exe and reset your comp., should be golden!!!

Btw, I understand that Omnipass can be found on the LG site.
