    Hello
I am going to buy a laptop from OfficeDepot store and could not decide which one to get.
    Lenovo 3000 N100
    CoreDuo T2300E, 512MB, 80GB 5400RPM, 1280*800, DVDRW+, 15.4 WXGA non grossy, Intel GMA 950 with $699 after two mail-in rebate

    Sony Vaio VGN-FS980
    Pen M 740 1.73 with 533Mhz with 1.0GB PC2-4200 533Mhz, 80GB 4200 :)mad :), 15.4 WXGA grossy, DVDRW+, Intel GMA900 with $799 after mail-in rebate

I had IBM Thinkpad R32, Dell L400 so far and VAIO looked very nice, however, I cannot beileve their quality. Looks a lot better though.
Does any one ever consider these laptops?

Leveno flat hands down, better HDD(faster), way way better processor, better graphics card.

the sony does have more ram(which is easy to upgrade) but all most people who just use the internet, word etc. need is 512mb.

Get the Lenovo, dude. The 4200RPM hard drive sucks really bad. And u get a MUCH better processor and slightly better GPU.

Perhaps you should consider the FAQ and post there. Without a clue as to your intentions for the machine it is kinda of hard to help. As noted, the Pentium M is old school.
