Just received my new N200 notebook today and in the BIOS it is reporting the BIOS version as 1.07 (68ET23WW). Here it is in CPU-Z...

The weird thing is that the Lenovo website lists BIOS version 1.02 (68ET21WW) as the latest! As well, when I run the Lenovo Care Update program, it prompts to download and install the 1.02 version.

    Any ideas?

Can anyone confirm their Bios version and BIOS settings compared to mine. I still don't understand what version my notebook is running and the Bios options seem pretty sparse for this notebook.

Here are pics of my BIOS:

I don't have the answer to your question, but it seems pretty clear that you have 1.07. It is strange that the website doesn't offer this version as it seems that going by the version number you should have the latest. I think Lenovo just needs to update the website to offer the latest.

Are you having any issues that you are trying to resolve by a BIOS update? BIOS updates are not something to mess around with. Things can go very wrong. Just some friendly advise... do not try to update your BIOS unless YOU are having some critical issue that you are certain the new BIOS update will fix. If you must update the BIOS the it is wise to use the bootable CD method of updating the BIOS. Also, in your situation, if you really are trying to update your BIOS to resolve an issue, you should probably call tech support to inquire about what is really the latest version.

I can confirm you got latest BIOS (same as mine). I have a 3000 N100 and its friggin BIOS has fewer options than my father's old IBM PC AT. I did find the 1.07 somewhere downloadable. after I flashed it in I got the same thing still.

Don't know why Lenovo assumes 3000 N users are simpletons that don't need and know how to tweak BIOS.

    This frustrates me.

Thanks for the replies, guys, looks like I forgot to subscribe to this thread. It's so weird that this is the version shipping with these notebooks but the website still only offers 1.02.

Xiheng, I competely agree with the sparseness of BIOS options. Settings such as Vanderpool have to be guessed at and there are so few configurable options. Maybe the 1.02 version offers more configuration options?

cipher7, the "Product Name" actually shows your M/T, Model, and Serial number....if thats what you were trying to hide in that pic.
