As much as the review does see the Lenovo N3000 in a positive light, it is worth noting that particularly the design and quality of the laptop deviate quite a bit from the pictures.

I was extremely enthusiastic after reading the review. I thought to myself, this is the laptop I'm looking for. As a careful and experience computer buyer, my research tends to be almost obsessive.

When the N3000 finally arrived at a local showroom, I was disappointed. The laptop was heavy, felt like cheap plastic and was honestly visually unappealing.

I had hoped for the IBM factor to play a role particular and the quality of the build. But Thinkpad, as has been pointed out in many different threads in the past, is not the same as the new Lenovo line.

In the end, I opted for an HP, but just thought I'd let the community know, always check out the laptop before buying it. Photographers don't get paid $200 for a four hour photo shoot for nothing...

True... I agree with you. When its comes to ThinkPads the quality is good, but instead of a Lenovo N3000, even I think the HP is better. I have not yet seen one in person, and like you even I was under the impression that it would be good and I even tried recommending it to some friends of mine. I really like the slim HP line, particularly the new super sexy models they recently released.

Thanks for sharing. Lenovo seams like it has to do much better. Personally, I just hope they don't screw up the Think line.

You what's odd, I used the Lenovo 3000 V100 and the mouse keys were *horrible* on the review unit I had, then I recently used another one on a tech show floor and the buttons were fine. Whether this is manufacturing issues or a problem with the pre-production V100 I had I don't know. But either way, you're right in saying the 3000 series is not as rugged.
