    Lenovo N500 shutting down randomly

    Hello good people :D

    I have Lenovo N 500 and whenever I play games or movies my laptop sometimes turns off. I have downloaded a temperature sensor program and noticed that right before it would shut down the temperatures would sky-rocket. I have a hunch that it might be the GPU.

    Win 7 32 bit
    4 GB RAM DDR2
    NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS

    Both your CPU and GPU temperatures go up? What's the peak temperature you're seeing?

    CPU temperature stays at around 48 - 52 C.
    GPU temperature hovers at 90 C.

    Right now I have a movie paused.

    Yeah, that's on the high side for a GPU. You can try cleaning out your vents first to see if that helps matters. If you do so with compressed air, make sure you hold the fan blades still to prevent them from being damaged.

    The GPU temperature dropped to 84 C. but still the same occurs :/
