EDIT: pasted due to forum error....

I'm looking at getting a new computer in the coming weeks and am looking at Lenovo Outlet, specifically at the T410/T410 s. (yes there are new models coming but I'll save some coin and pass)

I think the site's improved immensely since the last time they revamped it, but when I try to filter my choices to see units that get 4+ hours of battery (idealy i want more but ok...) life, I still see nothing but systems with 6 cell batteries that say "2.5 hour life" next to their description.

is the 2.5 hour thing a typo in their listings? does the 6 cell get more than that? is there potentially a mistake somewhere where theyre mistakenly listing every t410/t410 s as having a 6-cell? It's kinda annoying as I want to consider them but dont want to be stuck with a system that requires that I'm constantly tethered.

Uhh 2.5 hours sounds right to me. My T410s (type 2904-GGU, i5-520M, 8 GB RAM, 250 GB 1.8" 5400 rpm HDD, WXGA+ LCD, Intel HD GPU) barely got 2.5 hours, though it has a gimped 44 WHr battery while the T410 has a standard 56 WHr battery. You should get average like 3 hours for the T410, as Arrandale CPU's are pretty crappy for idle/load wattage.

Gah, i meant T420 and T420 S. I was trying to compare models for so long that I got them mixed up...sorry.

Does that make an appreciable difference (Sandy Bridge and all that...)

I believe that's a typo. My X220 was listed as "2.5 hours" with the 9 cell battery. So was every single other computer I looked at on the outlet.

I think I could drive a small motor with this computer and have it last longer than 2.5 hours with the 9 cell battery...

I just have to say we bought two t410s from the outlet about a year ago and it has just been a pain in the a$$.

I know this isn't what you asked for... Maybe a PSA??

Hah, So it is a mistake on Lenovo's part then. Well searching the store just got a hell of a lot more annoying then as I'd have to probably use online chat to determine what battery a system has.

    In any case, thanks! +rep

Ouch, good luck with whatever issues you're having.
