Hello, i've always had this issue and i thought after doing this clean Win7 SP1 install it would be gone but no! The profile keep reseting itself (max performance, but any will do). I can't believe over the update they didn't fix this, and i'd like to know what's causing this at least if i can't solve it..?

After some research i found that this is a known issue and Lenovo won't fix it. I was told to install BatteryCare, i did.

Still, something (Windows? Lenovo Power Driver?) reset the screen sleep timing (and more) after some time.. :(

Your post is missing many details e.g., Which version of Lenovo Power Manager? What type of ThinkPad are you installing it on? Do you have Lenovo Power Manager Driver installed? Is your Intel Chipset Driver installed as well? FWIW all the ThinkPads I own (T500, T61, and x61tablet) have functioning Lenovo Power Manager programs. I do not have any issues with the Power Manager resetting itself to maximum performance. IIRC the more recent models of ThinkPads have issues with Lenovo Power Manager therefore some users have uninstalled it from their ThinkPads.

Last I recall there were some tricks to get power manager to work on W8. Not sure how the Sandy Bridge series of ThinkPads fare with the power manager so I cannot help you there. IIRC it is after the W520 that Lenovo got territorial and placed a chip inside the battery housing that will ensure that only batteries released for the Ivy Bridge line of ThinkPads will charge normally. If one attempts to place a Sandy Bridge series ThinkPad battery in a T530/T430/W530 then the battery will not charge. Not sure what is causing your battery woes but after your clean install did you run Lenovo System Update? Also if you open your Device Manager in Control Panel do you see any yellow triangles w/exclamation marks?

Yes all drivers are up and I'm using AC adapter at all time so battery's not concerned.
