DISCLAIMER: must have been posted a million times before,
and I, dumb**s, just can not find it. And yes, after 28 years working with
the other stuff (AS400 and such) I am still a novice to pc's/laptops.
    (28 yrs allready . . . . man, I feel old)

    Now for the noob question:

2 months ago I got my hands on a new R60e.
Core Duo, 512 Mb, 80Gb Fujitsu
Vista Bussiness pre-installed, AND I HATE IT.
This is a no go area.

How do I get rid of Vista and set the R60e up
to receive a clean XP Pro install.

As many of you must allready be aware of is the fact
that the XP installer fails to see any harddrive.
Is this because the SW_PRELOAD partition blocks
    its view.
If so, how do I get the thing out of the way.

    Also:
Do I need to gather all sorts of drivers for the R60e to
    run under XP Pro.

Please point me in the right direction.
    Thanks.

You need to set the hard drive to compatibility mode in the bios before you can set install XP. Yes download the drivers from Lenovos site first and make sure you make the recovery discs before you start.
