    Hello

I'm in shop for a new netbook and my eyes just fall on thinkpad x100e for everyday uses...

After doing many researches on eBay, I've found a refurbished x100e for about $300 and UPS free shipping ... Is this really a good price? or just add another $100 and getting the new one from amazon? (I consider it too much since I've another laptop)

    http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Thinkp...TF8&s=electronics&qid=1291989231&sr=8-1-spell

should I worry about the quality of the laptop since this is my 1st time to buy a refurbished laptop?

    Thank You :)

They have the X100e with a dual core in the Lenovo Outlet starting at $410, though you'd have to pay tax. Personally, I wouldn't buy a single core machine. From the outlet it'll look new and have a new battery. You may save a few bucks buying elsewhere, but you're more at the mercy of the sellers description. Some are better than others. You won't know what you'll get until you get it. It's a more risky proposition.

Thank you guys. I've ordered it few days ago from ebay. The seller was so nice and sent me pictures of the laptop to approve the device is clean (the box was sealed). Actually I bought this to be my secondary laptop for light uses like surfing web, emails and using office. I think here AMD NEO single core CPU is enough plus I intend to install Windows XP rather than pre-installed W7.

Take a look at this. I am not sure about the accuracy though but
this might serve as a guideline for pricing.

Btw, I was able to get a used x60s off-lease for 220 (total with shipping)
and has 8 months warranty left. Graphic doesn't seem as good but
    an alternative nevertheless.

Thank You, this link is really helpful in some situations.

Actually 220 bucks for x60 is also considered as a good deal because it was very expensive when it was released 4 yrs ago. Still the x60 provides many things current netbooks lack.

I use to own an x60 and I really liked it except for one issue. If I put any operating system other than Windows XP on it, the right side of the palm rest would get uncomfortably warm. This happened in Win7 and Ubuntu, but in XP it was fine.

Very interesting! What could be the reasons for this?

that is the problem with the wireless card. Some people have removed the wireless card from under the palmrest and used a PCMCIA wireless card instead, to avoid the palmrest over heating issue.
