Is the Lenovo Registration necessary for activating your warranty?
According to the special benefits page, "Your prompt Lenovo product registration confirms your right to the protection available under the terms and conditions of your Lenovo Limited Warranty." Is it worth my time to do this?

ThinkPad warranties are different than most, they follow the machine, not the buyer. No registration is required. When you call support they ask you for your machine type and serial number which hopefully will be in the database. You can use the warranty look-up in the sticky to check on you warranties status. On occasion, the status will be wrong in which case you can call and get it fixed before you have an issue. Hopefully you won't ever need it.
