Does anyone know of a retail outlet in southern Ontario for Thinkpads? Whether you can buy refurbished Thinkpads or brand-new ones in popular configurations, does such a place exist? Thanks a bunch.

There is an "outlet" online on the Lenovo website. They have a couple of different configurations that might meet your needs. Not really that great of a deal though. I'd suggest getting yourself an American Express card (Although I'm not sure the deal works the same in Canada) giving you 28% off. You can get a T series (14") in the low $900 (USD) range.

I'm referring to something other than the Lenovo website, i.e. something that currently has stock of a laptop. I've been told not to expect shipping anytime sooner than mid-September if I order from Lenovo now. As an aside, is this true? Is Lenovo's shipping situation currently comparable to Dell's?

    Thanks.

I'd like to know as well, especially if they have a chance of carrying a T61p 14"

    overdaws,
Make sure you call your rep and confirm that Sept.15 ship date. They got about 200 14.1" T61s in Canada last week and they were filling backorders. Mine had a Sept.15 ESD but got shipped already, due to the unexpected shipment that Lenovo Canada received.

All 200 of those T61s might have already been accounted for though, but it's worth a phone call to Lenovo to make sure.
