did a search but didn't find results.. there's a deal on this model right now for $399. i'm wondering if you guys know how the avg. battery life is, display quality, and what the weight is.. any known issues and is it worth the price?

I would disagree with your statement.

OP: For a little more, you could get the x120e which is well known and proven laptop.

The X120e is pretty nice, but pity that they don't offer it anymore. Why you would disagree? Can you give us some examples of non-TP great products?

I think you really should consider the X220. The base model (which probably outperforms the ideapad btw) is at $600 and it's so much better. The X120e is not bad either. There are other brands (Samsung and Asus in particular) that produce nice and cheap netbooks.

thanks. i like the x220, but might have to wait on a sale or deal, as it's a bit over my budget (i'd like to stay under $600). i prefer the 11.6" screen size, but don't mind 12" also. which models from asus or samsung do you recommend?

Wow, that's a great deal. However the 10% discount does not work.
