These will be coming with the new whiskey lake CPU's (an upgrade to those offered by the X1 Carbon). This means it will come with an integrated Wifi on the chip, which should deliver faster speeds, efficiency and may even fix hibernation/sleep issues.

I think on the whole it might tempt me to buy it due to it smaller size. Both can be equipt with 16 GB of RAM, up to 1TB SSD and performance should be similar. Has a similar battery size too so coupled with Whiskey Lake efficiencies, should beat the Carbon on battery life (despite misleading marketing of up to 15 hours on the Carbon and up to 10 hours on the S730).

    S730:
    Dimensions: 307 mm x 210 mm x 11.9 mm / 12.1" x 8.3" x 0.5"

    X1 Carbon 6th Gen:
    Dimensions: 323.5 mm x 217.1 mm x 15.95 mm / 12.73" x 8.54" x 0.62"

My favourite part is that the Ctrl/fN keys are normal on the S730 :).

No Thunderbolt it looks like, which is a shame. That is pretty much the same dimensions as my Fujitsu U727, but much thinner. So this could be decent if you only need 16GB of memory.

Despite what the web page says - I am pretty sure this has 2 TB3 ports (they are just listed as USB-C Gen 2, the USB-C Gen 1 will not be TB3 - has 3 USB-C in total) - at least according to many articles (eg https://www.slashgear.com/lenovo-yoga-s730-is-an-ultra-sleek-compromise-free-macbook-rival-30543671/)

Edit: if you look at the right side stock image on that Lenovo link, you'll see it confirming it is Thunderbolt. So 100% 2x TB3, 1 x USB-C gen 1.
